Popchip Giveaway

A few weeks ago, I noticed David Ort tweet about free Popchips through the Klout Perks program. A lot of people had been mentioning these chips, and free is good, right? So I put in my order for a sample pack. Well, this week, they arrived!

So, what exactly are Popchips? According to their site,
We don't fry it (unhealthy). We don't bake it (undelicious). We take wholesome potatoes, add a little heat and pressure, and pop! It's a chip. The only thing added is a flavorful blend of seasonings for a snack so delicious and crispy, you won't even notice it's (we hesitate to say) healthier.
They also contain no preservatives and are suitable for gluten free and vegan diets.

In the box were 6 bags of chip flavours: original, salt & pepper, barbecue, cheddar, sour cream and onion, and sea salt & vinegar. The texture of the hcips is quite interesting, somewhere between a regular potato chip and shrimp chips, but with a satisfying crunch.

The seasonings are fairly light compared to other commercial chips, which I like. For example, I've never liked salt and vinegar chips, finding them way too vinegary. I didn't hate these ones! They still wouldn't be my first choice though. My favourite flavours were the original and salt and pepper, which had a very pure cracked black pepper taste.

Also in the box was a code to pay the freebie forward. So, if you'd like to try Popchips for yourself, leave a comment below letting me know what your all-time favourite chip flavour is. The contest will remain open until 9pm EST on June 18, 2011, when a winner will be randomly selected. Please keep in mind, I'll need to pass your mailing address on to Popchips for them to send you your sample package, so if you're cool with that, comment away!

Disclosure: I was given a free product or sample because I'm a Klout influencer. I was under no obligation to receive the sample or talk about this company. I get no additional benefits for talking about the product or company.
