Late Night at Reggie's

So there's a new sandwich shop on King West, right next door to Craft Burger. The special thing about Reggie's Old Fashioned Sandwiches is that they're open 24 hours. Sweet! At about 11 last night, I finally got hungry (after those enormous mac & cheese fritters in the afternoon), so I was happy I could just walk about 15 minutes and get myself a sandwich.

I had read that the wait times for a sandwich were extraordinary - up to 40 minutes - so I brought some reading material with me. It wasn't necessary however. I had my pulled pork sandwich in hand within 10 minutes, and eating it at home soon after.

It wasn't the best pulled pork sandwich I've had, but it wasn't terrible. I like my pulled pork more on the saucy side than they do at Reggie's. But even being light on the sauce, one part of the bun was, mysteriously, completely soggy. Other than that, the meat was very well flavoured. I'm not sure what kind of cheese they used, but it neither added nor detracted from the sandwich, so I'm not sure it was even necessary.

Still, having the option of fresh made sandwiches until the wee hours of the morning, even if they're not spectacular. I hope they can keep it going.
