Stitch & Eat

It was my turn to host the monthly stitch and bitch/potluck meetup last night. The ladies did not disappoint. There was a ton of food between the six of us, and it was all delicious.

Natalie brought an Irish treat pack in honour of St. Patrick's day, including a few cans of Magner's Cider and some Porter cheese. Georgette, decked head to toe in green, brought a marble cheesecake and a bottle of Bailey's. Rebecca contributed some lovely mangoes and Denise, a delicious smoked salmon and crackers. Luckily, we got to eat most of the salmon before my cat got to it while we were focused on stitching. I provided some green cheese - a sage derby - with crackers and bread.

Stephanie gave us the homemade item. She'd gotten her grandmère's recipe for traditional Quebecois tourtière a while back. While the filling and crust were classic, she decided to make them party sized by baking them in muffin tins, and twisted them with a topping of asiago cheese. They smelled amazing even before we reheated them in the oven, and tasted just as good.

I can't wait to see what we all come up with next month!
