Market Eating

Met up with B Saturday morning for the St. Lawrence Market Kitchen's Food Sampling and History Show. During the history part, I learned that the only thing Dickens liked about Toronto was the shopping.

The sampling portion of the event featured products by Kozlik's Mustard. Besides an hors d'œuvre of melba toast topped with cream cheese, watermelon radish and Double C Dijon, the presenter whipped up a quick mustard sautéed chick pea dish. B thought it needed more mustard, while I wanted more lemon. The watermelon radish was a new thing for me. I'd never even heard of such a thing. It's got the nice refreshing crunch of a radish, with a much mellower edge.
