When I heard that Cadbury had dark chocolate mini eggs, I had to find them. Though they're pretty and everything, they were a bit of a let down.
The review at Candy Blog is pretty accurate. Even though the chocolate looks dark, the flavour isn't that intense, bittersweet-ness you expect. In fact, it doesn't taste like any other dark chocolate product from Cadbury. I found them exceedingly sweet, bordering on artificial-tasting. This might be attributed to the candy shell though.
Speaking of the shell, I might be allergic to something in it. About half an hour after eating some of the eggs, my back and shoulders broke out in hives. :( I'm going to have to scrutinize the ingredients list tonight. Has anyone else ever had a candy reaction?
