bagel two ways

I love bagels. In all their forms. Even the non-Montreal kind. These are my two favourite ways to eat them.The way they toast up is just soooo good. I do love a good crispy/chewy combo.

On the left, we have a flax seed bagel toasted with cream cheese and fresh tomato slices. This never fails to take me back to my first year of uni, when I lived in my favourite house I lived in in Calgary. It was close to Prince's Island Park and the Bow River, in the neighbourhood of Kensington/Sunnyside. And though we eventually had to move once the ground shift and poor construction started causing the kitchen to come away from the rest of the house, I used to sit out on the front porch in my pyjamas and bathrobe on warm mornings with a cup of coffee and bagels this way.

On the right, is a simple butter/peanut butter combo. There's something about these two melted together that's greater than the sum of it's parts. It doesn't remind me of anything, but is still delish.
